Parent Update 4/22

Dear Parents,

Hopefully everyone has been having fun so far this season! I know it’s been a little bumpy but I feel like all the kinks are smoothing out. After looking into the regatta that we had scheduled, I found out that boats must qualify for the chance to compete. That being said, I searched for another regatta that we will be able to compete in so that we can still race multiple times this season. On Sunday May 3rd there is the City Championship Regatta in Philadelphia that fits our schedule that we are now registered for. This is on the Schuylkill River in the exact same location that our previous regattas have been held so far.

This weekend will be out first time on the Cooper River this year. On Saturday we have the Garden State Championship Regatta and then on Sunday is the Cooper Cup. Neither of the schedules have been posted yet but I will keep everyone updated as soon as I find out. These races start around 9 am and run throughout the day. I believe that they aren’t separated like the Flicks were, so we will be racing throughout the entirety of the race schedule. We will be meeting at the Camden County Boathouse at 7:15 AM. The address is 7050 N Park Dr, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109. When I find out the schedule for Sunday I will let everyone know.

Directions from South NJ : From I-95 north follow signs to Walt Whitman Bridge (past Philadelphia International Airport and the Philadelphia Naval Base). On bridge stay in right lane and take first right as you come off the bridge. Follow signs to NJ Route 130 north. Stay on Route 130 through one circle (Collingswood Circle). After going under an RR bridge watch for Cooper River on the right (it looks like a lake, not like a river). Take first right after passing the river (the first traffic light). This is North Park Drive. Continue for 2,000 meters. Trailer parking is at the end of the course on the right. Trailer parking is to the right.

One last note of business, we are still missing some fees from a few girls. Please send those in with your daughter’s when possible.
